Choice Project: To complete a work of art that will utilize my creative problem-solving skills and show my originality of execution while challenging me to take risks.
Exercises
Drawings in response to prompts of; Shadow or Verbs or Sculpture or a found place/object or the Unseen.
The Shadow
Make a drawing that includes a light (a real light) as a part of the drawing.
Have that light cast a shadow that speaks metaphorically about the drawing
and/or subject.
Verbs
Pick three verbs that don’t go together or that would be difficult to do together
(eg. swimming, smoking, crying). Make a drawing of this.
The Drawn Sculpture
Make a sculpture. Photograph this sculpture in black-and-white from multiple
viewpoints, etc. Make a drawing using these photographs as source material.
Never show anyone the actual sculpture.
Found > Made
Find an object/person/place unintentionally. Make a drawing of what you found
so that the viewer questions what the drawing is of and why you drew it in that
way.

The Unseen
Make a drawing where what is shown points to something that we cannot see.
