Part Two: Process/Control: Experiment with processes that reside outside of my comfort zone.
In class, I used Indian ink and various methods of application to paper to mimic Matisse’s style of creating.
I like this as a drawing on its own. For this piece, I use a mangled sponge attached to the end of a long stick. I lay the paper flat on the studio floor then dipped the sponge in Indian ink and dabbed the wet sponge onto the paper, creating thick small blobs of what to me look like create heads.
I then with gentle force, dragged the tip of the sponge across the page starting at the small blobs.
I think this stands on its own well.
Though I like this ink drawing, I rather like to hurl ink or paint at my final drawing. I look forward to it.
