I put the picture of the orange in here because I really like it.
Reflection:
For this assignment, I photographed my own home preserves in various forms,
from dried fruit to sauces, vegetables, and fruits in jars. I have always
thought about how deliciously beautiful the preserves look while they cool on the
counter in the late afternoon sun. The fruits and vegetables, jams, and jellies,
in their jars, take on a translucent luminosity as the sunlight passes through
them.
My intention with this assignment was to capture the light shining through
the jars illuminating the preserves within, like suspended gems sweet or pickling
syrups. Though the journey was tough I believe I have achieved that goal.
I am learning that photography is not my forte, which is fair enough. I am
not sure why but I do not like the medium of photography. I don’t mind taking
pictures and really enjoy working in a dark room. Photograms are my favourite thing
to work on when it comes to working in a dark room. Perhaps it is the
stationary part of sitting and working on a computer that I do not like. Yet once
I got the hang of what to do and practiced a few times the work was easy enough.
I still feel photography is not for me.
